Admissions

The Westborough School is an Academy and part of SEEAT (South East Essex Academy Trust.) It is its own Admissions Authority.

The school works closely with the Local Authority, Southend Borough Council, to ensure that there are adequate places for school children in the area and that admissions are treated fairly.

There are two separate Admissions Policies, one for the school and one for the nursery. This is because nursery education is not a statutory requirement, whereas all children are expected to attend school when they are five.

Admission to the nursery does not automatically guarantee admission to the school.

To visit The Westborough School and the Nursery

The Westborough School does not hold open evenings for prospective parents to see the school. We prefer to show you round personally and answer your questions as you look round the school. If you would like to visit and see the school in action telephone the office on 01702 349249 and make an appointment. We look forward to seeing you.

To apply for a place at the Nursery

Please read the Nursery Admissions Policy (link above). You will need to pick up a Nursery Admissions Application Form from the school office.

Children starting school for the first time.

You will need to make an application to the Local Authority, Southend Borough Council, who manage admissions on behalf of infant and primary schools in the Borough.

Primary School Admission 2023/24

Applications for a September 2024 start in Reception year can be submitted in the Autumn Term 2023. Use the link above or contact Southend Borough Council on 01702 215007.

Children transferring to The Westborough School from another school or location.

Admissions to the Westborough school after September 1st each year (in-year admissions) will be managed by the School. You can download an Admission Application Form (link below) or pick one up from the school office.
